A House!

A lot of exciting things going on for us out here! We have been
looking at apartments/houses to move into this fall...we just
need something bigger...and after a lot of searching we
found this house. It's a 3 bdrm, 2 bath and it also has a
den which will be a perfect place for Nate to study. We will
still be in the same ward and it's in a really pretty, well kept
neighborhood with some ponds and trails right across the
street. We will move in about July 5 and hopefully get
everything settled before the baby comes! I can't wait!

Let Me Out!

We had to get one of those latches for the front door because
it will unlock if you just pull down on the handle and that's
way too easy for Jansen. It's so sad because he tries
to fit through the crack of the door so that he can
go outside. I snapped these pictures of him trying
to escape.

What a Wonderful World

Most of you have probably seen this...a little creation of mine about the boy who couldn't get enough of the outdoors!

Weekend Visitors

My mom and LITTLE sister (all weekend people wondered who
was older, me or her) came to visit for a few days. It was
such a blast. The weather was beautiful and Jansen put on
many entertaining performances.
We went to the zoo and Jansen can say "rhino." So
of course when we came to the rhinos we asked him
what they were. My mom claims he said "grandma."

I really miss them! And I miss an excuse to watch dumb shows
like "The Brookhaven Obesity Clinic," going to McDonald's for
breakfast, and buying lip plumping lip gloss. (It doesn't work-- but
it sure tingles!)

Sensitive Little Guy

This is a really funny/kinda sad video of Jansen. We got him the
Baby Einstein World Animals video and he just LOVES
it...except when the giraffe part comes on. For some reason, he has
always gotten really sad and emotional when they giraffes come
on. Here's what makes it even more interesting...the song they
play during the giraffe part is a song we sang at my
grandpa's funeral this past November. I don't know if Jansen's
just a sensitive little soul or what!!!

The Baby Shower

My friend, the acclaimed Kiki Comin, insisted on having a baby
shower for me. That's just the kind of wonderful friend she is. And
she planned it so that my mom and sister who are here
visiting would be able to come. It was so much fun and she made
the cake shown below. Just wait till you see what else she made!

The Baby Shower Cont.

My mom and sister let me pick out a crib set as a gift from them.
This is the blanket from the set...such fun colors to decorate with!
And here's Kiki's gift. She made the blanket AND the cute sign.
(Which matches my crib set perfectly.)
We are all trying to convince her to start a business!

And speaking of ADORABLE things, my cousins Angie and
Carrie sent this amazing (and SO soft) blanket out with my
mom and sister. The little blue dress is also from them
and the pink one from my mom. I just love it all.
And here's a dress that I found that I could not resist. It
says "When in Rome" and other Italy-related words
all over it. I love the little pockets.

Feeding the Ducks

There's a fun trail and pond not far from our house where
we like to take the kids to feed the ducks. For some reason
Jansen is never terribly interested in actually feeding the ducks.
He likes to explore and find rocks to throw in the water though.
We always have so much fun!

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things!

Bugs on my mom's floor and reading a good book
Gnawing on carrots 'cause mommy's a bad cook
I'm just like my daddy and love things with wings
These are a few of my favorite things!
(I hope you all sang that to the tune of "My
Favorite Things" from "The Sound of Music")

The New Do

We cut Jansen's hair last night---isn't he adorable? He
HATES having it cut. So we usually let it grow till it's a
mullet and then cut it.

A Visit to the National Museum of the United States Air Force

We tried to make the most of a rainy day by heading out to the National Museum of the US Air Force at Wright-Patterson AFB.

Jansen just kept looking up at all the planes and exclaiming, "Wow!"

And Nate wanted me to tell everyone that we saw the very plane that dropped the atomic bomb on Nagasaki. (It was just a little bigger than the one shown here. Ha ha.)

It's a...

So here she is "laying on her back." You can
see her forehead, nose, and open mouth.
What a cutie!

Now you are looking down at her. You can
see her face, belly, and two hands.

And a little foot!

Start 'Em Young!

I warned him...if you go potty in the tub one more time...

Just kidding...he loves to scrub the tub for some reason. It's certainly not because he's seen his dad do it. Okay, or his mom for that matter.

Easter Weekend

We had such a fun Easter weekend---even though it was colder than both Christmas and New Year's Day. Saturday we had a little get together with friends in the ward and Jansen went on his first egg hunt. He caught on really quick!

Then we colored eggs at home. The experience pretty much resulted in a big mess and terribly ugly Easter eggs but oh well! Egg salad sandwiches in Nate's lunch all week!

We had brunch on Sunday morning with some good friends. These are Jansen's Ohio buddies! He is learning to say some of their names.

We also had an Easter dinner with our next door neighbor and her family. 14 people in her little 2 bedroom apartment! The more the merrier right? It was delicious!
