In-laws Came to Town!

We had a most pleasurable weekend with Steve and Jody (Nate's dad and stepmom) a couple weekends ago. In a short amount of time we still fit in a movie, homemade ice cream, pizza on the grill, shopping (girls), hiking (boys), and more.

Steve designed this art desk for Nate and built it from solid maple and cherry...he is VERY gifted. I'll have to post a picture later of the cute cute thing Jody created as well. Nate has been wanting a place to be able to work on projects/drawings/paintings and his dad did an amazing job replicating just what Nate was looking for.  As you can see, it's already in use. Nate is very busy (15 hour work day today), but I am so proud of him for still finding ways to use his talents.

Let it be clear that this art desk was not "just" what I was looking for...it was WAAAAAYYYY more than I had imagined! Dad, I can't tell you how grateful I am and how excited I am to use it. -Nathan

Look at your beautiful door, I wish it was me knocking on it. Julia very recently said, "I wish Jansen could come and visit me." I hope residency is going okay. Crazy crazy times I tell you what.

Jessica, I am so glad you made a comment on my blog, so I could see your blog:)
It is fun to see your cute belly and catch-up on your life in Las Vegas.

What a gorgeous desk! The 15 hour days are tough. He's lucky to have a wife who encourages an outlet like that... I am tempted to inundate Scott's limited free time these days and I have to consciously step back and give him some much-needed down time as well.
