Thursday, Friday, Saturday

I swear I am capable of being home alone without Nate, but I just keep getting lucky. While Nate cashed in on his guy's trip for the year at Great Basin National Park, my mom came into town. It was also good timing for the birthday rush we have this time of year with Jansen, Natalie, and Emmy.
It's funny how the spur of the moment ideas are sometimes the most memorable. After arriving at a new splash pad in the area and finding out the water wasn't on, we decided to just play on the playground. And in the dirt.
Then Grandma Becca noticed there WAS some water on. The sprinklers.
A random stranger/girl/new friend from the park joined us, and the kids ran and played in the big field with the sprinklers. They loved it. Here's Natalie enjoying herself.
My mom and I would let ourselves get a little wet as well so we could cool off. We did some birthday shopping, tried some new recipes like zucchini pancakes, and watched Rio. Okay, okay, I'll admit it...we also watched Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2.
On Sunday afternoon Jansen got to hold a baby lizard from our backyard. I love having those little guys all over our walls back there.

You are so lucky to have a visit from your mom! Sounds like a wonderful time. I wonder when they're going to turn the darn water on at that park...probably right when it starts to get chilly!

My boys love the lizards too. I hate that they don't have the water on yet. I heard that it won't be on at all this summer...:(
