Sing, Sing a Song

On our way to the cemetery last Saturday, Natalie burst into song for a few minutes. I'm so glad I caught it on camera. My two favorite things about this video:

1. When Natalie turns and sees that I have the camera and she inserts the phrase, "Time to say cheese," right in the middle of her song.

2. In the background when Jansen uses his new phrase, "I don't believe!" Not on this video, but even more entertaining, is when he says, "I believe!" when I tell him something he likes or is excited about. I don't know where he got that, but I'm loving it.

make it simple, to last your whole life long! I've worked so hard to not have my kids say cheese when they see a camera. Such an unnatural smile. but it's inevitable. Cute Natalie.

Cute cute. I love the time to say cheese just thrown in the song without skipping a beat. I'm glad you caught that moment.

I love it. It was so fun to see her in motion singing her heart out. She does very well for a barely 2 year old.

You know, that sounds to most like a lot of gibberish. Being the mother of three girls, all of whom enjoyed songs of their own, I know the direct translation:

My mom is pretty great, albeit a little weird at times. La La La. She enjoys pulling on my hair and making odd formations then adding a bow. La La La. Sometimes it's really irritating, but all those big girls seem to really like it. La La La. Then, she makes me wear itchy clothes and shoes that aren't comfy like my crocs. La la la. She also tries to make me eat things with weird textures. La La La. Just when I think she couldn't get any weirder, she pulls out this weird toy and asks me to say cheese. La La La. I always comply, but sometimes I pull a weird face just to keep things interesting. La La La. Oh ya, sometimes I do this just to keep things interesting. That's my job. La la la...(at least, that's the song I'm pretty sure my kids sang...)
