Be Gone, Gate!

This very well may be the most boring photo I ever post.

But I had to have a picture with this story. Jansen was in his room having quiet time and I had set up the gate (which he has never really cared about) so that he could not just leave whenever he wanted to. I'm trying to teach him to play on his own more. I heard some banging and pounding coming from his room---somewhat typical noises for a 2 year old playing. When I came upstairs to check on him I found this:

Somehow he had removed the gate from his doorway. Then he propped it up against the wall. Returned to his room. Shut the door. Apparently he's too grown up for "baby" gates.

Guess he told you! Jansen can take down gates if he wants to. I love that child. mom.

Maybe next time you should consult with him first before you make decisions about his living conditions...

Two-year-olds sure do know how they like things! I know that first hand!

ooh, that's funny! he's like, "i'll stay in my room because I CHOOSE to, mom." life must just be a laugh riot with that kid around!

Jess-I didn't want to comment on your post about Noah. For some reason I didn't want other people reading my comment, not that it's anything special, I guess I just wanted it to be different. So, I picked some random post that no one else will look at, but you will get the message. I'm glad you got to hold him and I love the name you chose. It is good to see you are doing well, but I'm sure there will be hard days ahead. I will be checking on you, but if you don't want to talk, please let me know. I'm glad you have a blog, because even though we rarely talk on the phone or email for that matter, I can think about you everyday when I hope to see that you have a new post. It keeps me connected to you. You're awesome Jess, as is Nate (sometimes I wish Benson had some of Nate's thoughtful qualities ;) I love you and take care.
