Properly Warned Ye Be Says I!

I couldn't stop smiling today in Relief Society as we read 3 Nephi 14:14. It goes like this:

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

You see, this is a pirate scripture. Summarized by pirates it reads, "Strait be the gate and narrow the way and FEW THAR BE THAT FIND IT!" I believe my cousin Amy was the first to point this out to me. You scrunch up one eye and let the words out of the corner of your mouth...can't you just hear the piratey-ness of it? Properly warned ye be says I! You will never hear this scripture now without thinking of those pillaging buccaneers. Aaaarggh.

And now for some happy pictures. Two cute kids. Each one holding a stick and a "map." Ready to go hiking with dad. If that isn't happy I don't know what is.

Another happy picture. Beautiful blue skies and awesome mountains. A brother sharing the Camelbak with his little sis. More happiness!
Weeeellll...can't say that this is where I find my happiness exactly. But kids are happy here.
And the man responsible for all this happiness:
And picture me alone at home in peaceful solitude. Very happy.

(Okay, so this day actually involved tears. At one point in the afternoon I was sure they had all died of heat stroke or been in a car accident when I didn't hear from them when I thought I would. I knew they had fallen off a cliff. Or had gotten lost. So when Nate called I cried. I can be so silly sometimes.)

You are too cute! What a good dad that Nate is!
and that scripture is one that I remember my parents making us memorize when we were little, it is one of the very few I remember, but thanks...now I will always say it as a Pirate. that will be fun!

You can attribute those tears to pregnancy and the genes you inherited from your mother....sorry. Thanks for the happy pictures, they do make me happy. I love how Jansen looks at Natalie. You know he loves his little sister. Such a sweet boy.

What a fun hike! Your tears remind me of Bryan's Lifeline days. One night he didn't come home until like 4 AM and I was very pregnant and in tears too sure that I was to be left alone and with child. I love the pirate scripture too. Very funny.

Darn! Your escape should not have been tainted by tears! Hopefully next time you will rest assured that they will be OK, and REALLY enjoy your slurpee in total peace and quiet :)

I'm cracking up #1 for your spirichual ;-) message. #2 because I too would cry if Darin and the kids were 5 minutes later than I thought they would be home and my prego mind got the best of me. So thank you for sharing that - you are not alone!

Love it! I quoted that scripture, pirate style, to some friends the other day. Pirates for Life!
