Ancraophobia

Jansen's first soccer game didn't go so well. The evil, evil wind was blowing about so Jansen would not play. He did not even step on the field. I know I have mentioned this many times on my blog, but for those who don't know, Jansen has a fear of the wind and of things blowing away. I feel really bad for him because he is so genuinely frightened...and frankly I was a very fearful/careful child myself so I can understand where he is coming from. I was deathly afraid of fireworks, earthquakes, my grandparent's boat tipping over, and more. He just wanted to go sit in the car and kept saying, "Things are going to blow away!" We have to start somewhere though and I am glad he is getting exposure to the sport and having fun when it's not windy. I just hope we never have a tornado here!

I am so sorry but really I think his fear of wind and things blowing away is so cute and so funny. I love it!! A tornado would be the worst thing ever...that and watching the wizard of Oz. If he is anything like his mom he will be one heck of an athlete though!

That dang wind! Doesn't the weather know it is supposed to accommodate youth soccer games!?

No kidding! A tornado would cause complete PTSD for the poor kid!
So, do your future living plans involve making sure that you live some place where it's not windy very often? Don't plan on coming down to the Dallas area! It's windy ALMOST every day!

You know how I feel about the wind. He probly gets it from me. But really it is soooo annoying and when you are small the fear of blowing away is legitimate. I just read about a Chiwawa (not how its spelled I'm sure) who got blown right out of her owners hands in Iowa or somewhere and was found a mile away!

I'm with your mom, the wind makes me feel like those crazy horses that run around when a storm is coming. Why? I don't know...perhaps it's genetic. But, his picture was just about the cutest thing I've ever seen!

Runs in the family. My fears: 1. public restrooms. 2. getting locked in a public restroom with no one in shouting distance.

Poor Jansen! That's super cute. Was this the one and only soccer game? I remember being very afraid of some of the same things you mentioned too. I hope the other games go better.
