Train Tracks

I hope you will all forgive me for being a proud parent for a moment. Jansen loves to sit in the highchair and color with markers. It has been such a lifesaver to help him stay occupied! Lately he wants Nate and me to draw pictures for him (trucks, train tracks, trains, circles, etc.) which is wonderful...for the first 50 trains or so. He never wants us to stop! But it gets boring and the house and Natalie need my attention too so I have really been encouraging him to "draw" stuff on his own. Yesterday we found this on his paper:

He said they were train tracks! I was so proud of him and I think he did a great job. He just may be our budding artist!

he is sooo smart! remember to send pictures for me to put on the fridge! do you remember the art contest you won for the Pageant of the Arts when you were 4 or 5? you were so little to walk out on that stage all alone to accept your prize!

those are definitely train tracks! and, ummm... have you ever thought of drawing one or two trains and then making a bunch of copies for him to color? or will Jansen accept no substitution for a freshly drawn train? just an idea!

I'm still working on Julia to have Jansen be the big crush because that kid is seriously going somewhere. What a smarty!

Awesome - I am always thrilled when I see young artists so proud of their work.
