A Worry Wart

"Worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do, but it gets you nowhere." (I would love to attribute this to someone, but it appears that there are like 30 different people who supposedly said it first.)
I just don't know if I'm ready to have another child. And here's why: I worry WAY too much. (Thanks a lot mom and grandma and anyone else in my family who has hereditarily contributed to this!) With each child I have I am creating another little someone that I love so much I can hardly stand it...and I will constantly worry about their health, happiness, etc. And then those little someones create more someones and I love those ones too and it just keeps going and going!!! Do I sound crazy yet? This trying not to worry thing is something I have been working on for awhile now and am thrilled to say I am getting a lot better. Most of all, I am learning to have more faith. And besides, isn't it just the best feeling in the world to love someone so much it hurts?

It's good that the love for a child far outweighs the work and worry that is put into each one. Don't worry-- you're going to be wonderful at having two kids (just think of how much easier it will be with the two rather than the 10 in the future) and just remember newborns sleep a lot. It will be a piece of cake for you!

You know, Carrie and I had that exact conversation just a few days ago. It must be hereditary...as your cousins have a tendency to worry a bit too. (Ok, a lot bit) But remember that the Lord is on your side, and with His help, you'll be able to take care of those two beautiful children, and any others He may send to you. I pray every morning for help taking care of my little crew...and I'm far from perfect; but at least I know someone else, whom happens to be omniscient, is watching out for them too!

So, I've always heard that when you have lots of kids... (With two, you'll be well on your way :)... you learn not to worry so much, by necessity. You simply cannot worry about everything about every kid, because there aren't enough hours in the day.

I think most new parents are very fussy about their first baby, but the little bit of extra crazy that comes with the second baby tends to cure that nicely.

Of course, I have no kids... so don't listen to me. In fact, my concern is that I'm not enough of a worrier. I"m afraid I'm going to be so laid back I forget my baby at a friend's house or something. Hehehe.

Listen, sweetie, you will be so much more relaxed with this one because so much will come naturally. It is hard to love someone so much that it is all consuming. Just remember your mother loved you that way and now you are grown and doing great and would want me to know that you do just fine with all your little tasks and Jansen and Natalie want you to know that they are happy and will be fine with whatever life gives them, just like you do. Try to enjoy every day, one day at a time. (easy for me to say since I am that evil heredity factor you spoke of). love mom
