Before last week, I had never had sushi before. Considering I don't love fish, and I don't like shrimp, I never felt compelled to choose sushi for a date night or dinner out. Julie came up with the idea of doing a date night together and having Nate and I try it. I will tell you this. I love these girls. I hate sushi. I didn't think there was anything yummy about it. (I just now accidentally typed sushit...not too far from the truth if you ask me.)
Nate liked it, but I don't think he will ever crave it the way so many people seem to.
We ordered the all-you-can-eat on the menu, and there were a lot of non-sushi items that I really enjoyed. I had teriyaki chicken, edamame, curry, fried vegetables, and probably a few other things I can't remember now.
The company was excellent. All six of us were loaded in a mini van together. Doesn't get much better than that.

I agree with you, sushi is nasty! I don't understand why so many people crave it. "Sushit" really is a good description of how it tastes!
Sushi is nasty. Jason loves it but I think it because that's all he ate for two years. Give me some cheesy Mexican food and I'm a happy girl.
On another note- I love the pictures you post of Jansen out in the wind. I don't know him but I feel so proud of him. I can't imagine how scary that is for him. You are such a good mom for being so loving and patient with him as he struggles with something so hard. He is a cutie!
We got a new computer, and I shall now be commenting on your blog more. I know you are excited. The only sushi I have tried is a piece of frozen, diet sushi that Rick made me eat once. I pretended that I liked it to avoid awkwardness, and I will never eat it again.
kent has turned into a sushi snob just since moving to dayton. he craves it. Did you guys ever try fusian while in columbus?? we just went to mr. sushi in dublin last week and got pineapple/sweet potato sushi and it wasn't too shabby. I swear that when we went to australia it changed my opinions on fish. You need to go somewhere tropical and eat fresh fish in a few different ways- you may end up liking it! I swore I never would- but it's growing on me. I still prefer fishless sushi- but I'm getting there.

Oh I LOVE sushi! sorry you didn't like it. I never thought I would like it, but my sister is awesome at making it and that is where I tried it for the first time and loved it!
ps you and Nate are so good at date night. I wish I had a good babysitter...one day!
