We've Made the Decision

We have been discussing, researching, praying, pondering, comparing, and stressing for months about what kind of doctor Nate should be. It has been an extremely hard decision for us to make, but we've finally arrived at a decision: Family Medicine (so he is going to be a family doctor.) We're both happy and excited about it. I think it will be a really good fit for him. Some of the factors that played a big part in his decision to be a family doctor:
-the predictable schedule
-they are in high demand
-it fits his easygoing, friendly personality
-he wanted to do something that would allow him to work with all the organ systems
-it's less demanding than other specialties
We have another year and a half here in Ohio and then we will be headed to Omaha, St. Louis, San Francisco, or Pensecola...these are the places that the Air Force has residency programs for Family Medicine.
I knew Nate wouldn't want me to post or take a picture of just him so I took this one of him and Jansen together at dinner tonight:

My sweet Jansen that seems so easy and almost angelic compared to his little sister these days:

congrats congrats congrats!!! we are still trying to figure our future out! Kent knows that he loves primary care though- so it is a possibility that we could end up at the same base as you guys! I would be in heaven :)

My favorite part in this whole post is the part about him wanting to work with "all the organ systems". Oh, I love you Nate!
I am excited about your choice, it will make life much easier because of the predictable schedule.

BTW, my Cinncinnati Chili (Oh dear, I know I spelled that wrong) is simmering away on the stove right now and the aroma is intoxicating! Love you so!)

Whoa! The decision has been made. It sounds like a good one. I am rooting for San Francisco. I would LOVE to come visit you there. Plus it's much closer to Utah.

why why must everyone talk of moving away? It is always a relief to have that decision made though. You guys made yours way faster than we did ours.

Wow! That's so nice to know, and I'm so glad for you that he's doing family medicine. I surely didn't want to see you down the same road as my sister...espceially with little kids! YEAH! When do you know where you are going after school?

congrats on making a decision! I really hope leisy and kent end up in the same place someday. And about me not carrying my baby around, I just let him fuss, and Taylor is home on Fridays and Saturdays so he carried him around most of the time.

That is so exciting. Sounds like a great fit for Nate (and you with the predictable hours). AND you know I am voting for San Francisco.

Also, when Kyle asked me how the kids were today I told him that Aiden was perfect and well, Sofie... lets just say I am exhausted after a day with her. We ARE entering terrible twos very early. Oh dear.

hooray! I have always loved my family doctors the most!! That is perfect for him! And I TOTALLY know what you mean about Jansen seeming angelic compared... Jarrett is the same way. We have one of "those" monsters living at our house too... :) Congratulations on the decision!
