I was feeling pretty proud of myself at dinner tonight. I had prepared some healthy food for the kids and they were scarfing it down...the house was pretty clean...and all of this with my husband still at school.
Enjoying her food:
Enjoying her food:
As I sat there basking in my awesome mothering I suddenly saw Natalie chuck her plate on the floor:
She looks like she feels real sorry doesn't she?
So I got her down and cleaned her up a little...and in no time at all she had found a crayon and scribbled on the wall. Here she is leaving the scene of the crime:
I just needed her out of my hair for a minute so I could get to the messes so what awesome mothering skill did I pull out? I said, "Natalie there are some beans under there," and pointed under her highchair so she could go scavenging for food on the dirty floor. Who cares, certainly not me, it kept her busy for a minute.

I wish I could throw my dinner plate on the floor with no harsh consequence.
I can relate 100% to that story! Yesterday Brooklyn was looking at a picture of Natalie and started screaming and laughing and saying "BABY BABY!!!"
I love the look of satisfaction on her face as she leaves the scene of the crayon crime.
You know what Grandpa Fred would say...something about kids being exposed to germs to keep 'em strong, or something like that. So, in a way, eating off the floor is actually keeping her healthy...in a very twisted sorta way!
Awesome, I don't know why they find it so interesting to tip their plate over or throw it on the floor. But it always happens just when you look the other way or have too much in your hands. Little geniuses I tell ya!
Oh man, I totally feel your pain, and it is always after you are feeling pretty good about things. Atleast we feel good about things in between those crazy moments, or I don't know if I could go on! I think you are doing a pretty dang good job.
I love it. I let my kids eat off the floor too :)
