This is the first place we've lived that has had some flower beds. Nate planted all these beautiful flowers, and Jansen loves to water them. Nate takes really good care of them...I love that about him...whatever he does, he does it 100%. Notice that I haven't mentioned my own involvement with the flowers...because there hasn't been much. It just isn't my thing yet. But give me a few years and I think I could really get into it. Until then, good thing I have these two guys around!

Your flowers, or I mean your boys' flowers are so cute!! I wish I had a flower bed. But hey that is totally crazy that Lynnsay Asay Kimball is in your ward. She is totally cute! How fun!
It looks like you are making Ohio a much prettier place yourself! I love seeing those beautiful flower beds...I love hostas and those beautiful bushes(I have those too!) If you decide you want to "get into" flowers, I've got some good books for you...
For those who may be interested, the little green bushes with pink flowers are called Gaura lindheimeri, or simply gaura, also known as "Bee blossoms". If you google it, you'll find that they're native to southeastern North America. If you know me, you know I care about stuff like that! :) However, most of the readers of this blog (with some exceptions!) probably couldn't care less what the scientific name of that flower is! I didn't know you were into flowers, Angie! There is definitely a green thumb gene running in my family.
To clarify, I'm talking about the ones Jansen is watering in the first picture.
Beautiful job, you guys! I've been anxious to see "the fruits of your labors"! And Jess, I recall that while Nate was busy digging and planting those beds, you were "quizzing" him in preparation for his boards! That's teamwork! I also love that Jansen is enjoying watering them - I'll put him to work - and Nate too (ha, ha), when you get here!!! By the way, do you
have someone lined up to water your
flowers while you're gone? That would be sad if they were all shriveled up when you got back home! I've sure enjoyed all of your posts lately - I do remember that Ohio was quite a pretty place!
See you soon . . .
Good job! I am a proud gardening mother! Something so relaxing and rewarding about gardening. It looks like you have some hostas, I'll bet they will love the humidity! Love, mom
Impressive! So pretty. Sorry I never called you after my flight! Things got crazy and then with the time change and all I didn't want to call late! I put my flight story on my blog. How was yours? Hope you survived! Have fun with your family
Looks fantastic! Maybe you and Nate could come over to our house while you're in Utah... our yard needs some MAJOR attention.
Nate... just wanted to let you know that I appreciate the flower info.
