A few days ago we are sitting at the kitchen table and she tilts her head and says, "Why you have a bug in your hair?"
Me, imagining some small piece of nothing stuck in my hair, "I don't. It's nothing." I keep eating.
Natalie, very calmly: "Why you have a bug in yo hair?"
Me: "It's not a bug Natalie." Eat more.
She keeps looking, I start to get curious. "What color is it Natalie?"
"Pink and white," she says.
I have to see for myself. I walk over to a mirror and squeal as I catch sight of something very buglike clinging to my hair. I scream and twist and yell for Nate to come help. He runs down the stairs and at first glance assures me there is nothing. At second glance he sees IT and furiously swipes at my hair. One of these!!!
It is now in my best interest to take Natalie seriously when she cries bug.

What IS that thing???
I'm glad you survived. Of course she was so calm about the REAL bug. Why do kids have to be that way?
those are seriously one of the great things about living outside of columbus! oh. my. heck. JESS! in your hair? it's bad enough just to see one..anywhere!
Ahhhh! My worst nightmare coming true! I cannot believe it. Hope you can still sleep okay!
lol That is hilarious. She was calm cause it was on you not her. She is so funny.

Ew, I hate those things. I scream so loud when I see one of those run in front of me in my basement or something . . . . I can't imagine one of those creepies in my hair!!
Those are the creepiest of the crawlers!! I about died when I first saw one here in Ohio. They totally make me cringe. I will definitely NOT be missing them when we move.
worst thing about ohio. those things are disgusting- and I even like bugs. i am so sorry that it was in your hair.
A sighting of that mutiple legged creature would send me into hysterics.
Also, perhaps you could read "Horton Hears a Who" and reassure her that little fuzzies are just little worlds full of little darling creatures who are haphazardly being toted around the world against their will...um, maybe that would be a bad idea.
you poor thing!! glad to hear you're alive even though that nasty thing was so close to you!
