Chowhound

Well, if it's fruit anyway.

Here she is throwing back some prunes:
What? Never seen a girl with a mouth full of prunes before?
Nate and Natalie like to walk down our street to a little pathway that has wild blackberries. I am always a little concerned when Nate tells me just how many he let Natalie eat.
She just loves going outside with daddy.

Random Story: I had my most embarrassing moment of motherhood today. I took Jansen and Natalie to play at the park at the end of our street and things didn't start off well when a man and his daughter and dog arrived and the kids were infatuated with the dog. I don't know what the etiquette is in those situations so I let Natalie pet him a few times and then had to continually move her away, distract her, ask her to stop feeding it grass, etc. It seemed that the man was getting a slight bit annoyed. Jansen in the meantime is playing on the playground and toting around my water bottle. I saw him drink some and then spit it out just for fun and didn't think much of it but things were not fun anymore when I suddenly looked up and he was up at the highest point on the playground equipment and spit some water over the edge. RIGHT INTO THE FACE OF THE DOG MAN who was pushing his daughter on the swings. He was wearing glasses. It was like in the movies. He did a little sputter and quickly snatched his glasses off and wiped at his face and I looked on in horror. Jansen did not mean to do it at all and had no idea the crime he had just committed. I apologized profusely and we quickly left the park because it was just plain awkward after that.

I seriously recounted that story to everyone I talked to yesterday. That was the craziest most awkward park day ever! It still makes me laugh.

I am still laughing about this. I know that really wasn't funny, but whenever I think of that man taking of his glasses and shaking the water off of his head I can't help but laugh. So funny!!! And so embarrasing.

Oh man. I'm sorry! Can't wait for some more of those to come my way. Luckily Jansen is super cute so you didn't have to kill him. :)

First off anyone who brings a dog to the park HAS to know that all the kids are going to want to pet it and feed it grass and second WAY TO GO Jansen!!

That is too funny! At least he didn't mean to! Kyle probably would have been aiming for him. I've got to keep my eye on that little rascal!

I completely support Jansen's decision to teach the cratchety man a lesson for being irritated with his baby sister. It's unfortunate that the man was wearing glasses, some spittle in his eyes might have helped him see better. (It happened in the Bible didn't it? Eh, was that sacreligious?) He obviously didn't recognize the caliber of children his child were being allowed to rub shoulders with. Perhaps he just felt dumb that his kid wasn't nearly as cute, smart, or could spit as far as yours. (Aren't you glad my mama bear wasn't there in person?)
