I have decided that one of my favorite things about family pictures is the irony of seeing this perfect little picture that DOES NOT tell the story of every moment leading up to or following it. These pictures don't tell of realizing at pretty much the last minute that you don't have shoes to match the boys' outfits and starting ALL OVER in the clothes selection process, madly trying to clean baby spit up stains off Nate's shirt, toddler tantrums as you try to tame hair, the snow, running late and having your appointment "cancelled" but "we'll see if we can fit you in", protecting the baby's outfit from all her many secretions until the photos are taken, the indecision of which package to buy and going BACK to the studio to tell them you've changed your mind and want to look at them all again, finding dinner on the way home because this whole process has taken 3 hours and battling Jansen all the way to PLEASE eat a chicken nugget and then he can have some Frosty. But it was worth it. It always is. But please don't make me do it again for a long time.

I sooooo agree with you but I would apply it to all children's/toddler's pictures. I am so bad... I pretty much decided to just take snapshots from now on because it's not worth all the fuss. It's such a letdown to try and try and not get the results you envisioned. Nice Work though. I am waiting til Brig is 6 months to get our family pic done
Jessica, you crack me up, but I LOVE your pictures - no matter what you had to go through - you are such a cute little family!
Thanks for the laugh again. I needed one really bad, this the 5th day before Christmas. I was thinking the same thing about pictures in general. They don't tell the whole story, but they are so wonderful to look back on and help you realize the specailness and joy, that is often so fleeting.

I love your pictures! When I saw your Christmas card it just made me happy. You are all so well coordinated and everyone looks great! I told Peter "We so have to do that next year. Look at what a perfect little family they are....and Jansen's outfit just pulls everything together!" Love it!
Jess! How cute! The pictures are amazing! We have still never had Evie be nice for professional pictures! She will only let the "chicken man" people take her pictures at the school. Thankfully, she has hundred of pictures anyway. Wow! Tell Nate he has a beautiful family! Love you all!
they turned out awesome! i so understand the drama before pictures...sooooo frustrating!
they turned out great! where'd you get them done?
