Don't even ask why or how my mother came across this picture and then emailed it to me. And don't you even dare comment on the striking similarities between my daughter and a hippo.
Now, in a grandma's defense. My sweet Emmy in no way looks like a hippo, but this year a baby hippo was born in captivity (only happens like every 35 years) and they chose to name her Emmy. Coincidence? Perhaps.
I don't find the coincidence offensive in the least. I've heard that the heavier the baby, the longer they can go at night without waking up. So, if I were hoping for something, I'd hope my baby was as similar to a baby hippo as possible. Except the big incisors. Especially if I were a breast feeder.
your mom is so great! love it. i'm calling you tomorrow...better clear that schedule!:)

ReplyDeleteActually, all I was thinking is how absolutely adorable she is. Hope Nate had a happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteThe cutest hippo I've ever seen. I don't even see where you got hippo from. She just looks adorable. Your mom's comment made me laugh hard by the way.
